When you purchase something on gardenmax online, we want you to be
completely satisfied. If you find that you must return an item, we make
it easy.
For UPS deliveries,
- Use the handy UPS return form on the bottom of your receipt to return
your item. Drop the package at a UPS pickup station and they'll return your
shipment free of charge. We'll issue a credit to the original credit card
used when you placed your order.
- If there's no UPS pickup station near you, simply call us at
1-800-PICK-UPS and arrange for UPS to pick up your package and return
it free of charge. We'll issue a credit to the original credit card used
when you placed your order.
- If your order does not include a UPS return form on the bottom of your
receipt, please call us at 919-773-8369 and we will provide you with a
Return Authorization to return your merchandise and ensure your account is
properly credited.
For deliveries via common carrier
- Call Customer Care at
919-773-8369 for detailed instructions.
- Include a copy of the original packing slip with your return shipment.
- Once you receive the pre-paid shipping label, call the carrier indicated
to arrange pick up.
- You must clearly print the RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number on
the outside of the box to receive credit.
Please note: A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns except in the case of
defective or damaged merchandise.
Return Policy Basics
- Merchandise must be returned within 90 days of purchase in unused,
like-new condition.
- A copy of the customer receipt, original packing slip, UPS return form
or RGA (Return Goods Authorization) must accompany all returns.
- A refund will be issued only to the original credit card.
Return Instructions
- Use the original packaging or a strong corrugated carton.
- Pack and tape your package securely.
- For UPS deliveries, complete the return form, using codes to explain
your reason for return and insert into the package. Follow return
instructions listed above.
- For common carrier deliveries, include a copy of the original packing
slip and clearly print the RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number on the
outside of the box. Follow return instructions listed above.
Damaged Items and Shortage Claims
Please report damaged or missing items within 3 days of delivery by calling toll
free 919-773-8369.
Items That Use Flammable Liquids or Gases
Please note that items that use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned if
used because they create a safety hazard. For example, if you filled your leaf
blower with fuel, it cannot be returned via UPS or mail even if you drain the
tank before shipping. Please call 919-773-8369 for instructions.
Gift Cards
Gift Cards cannot be exchanged or returned for cash, credit or check.

Items Purchased in Our Stores
For fast, easy returns, keep your receipt. It not only ensures that you get the
proper credit for your purchase, but it also helps our associates process your
return quickly.
Returns with an original sales receipt within 90
days of purchase.
- Any purchase made by credit card will be refunded to the original credit
card
- Any purchase made by cash or with a debit card will be refunded in cash*
- Any purchase made by a check that has cleared the 10-business day
waiting period will be refunded in cash*
- Any purchase made by a check that has not cleared the 10-business day
waiting period may be refunded as a Store Credit
- Any purchase made by Store Credit, Gift Certificate or Gift Card will be
refunded as Store Credit
Returns with an original sales receipt after 90
days of purchase
- A Store Credit or credit to a GardenMax Commercial credit account may
be issued for the original purchase price**
Returns without a sales receipt
- If you made your purchase in the past 90 days by credit, debit, or check
we may be able to look up your receipt for you
- If we are unable to look up your receipt because you did not pay with
one of the options listed above, a Store Credit or credit to your GardenMax
Commercial credit account may be issued based on the lowest selling price
Special Order Merchandise
- Some Special Order returns subject to a 15%
restocking fee. Cancellations may be subject to 15% restocking fee.
- Custom made products: No returns
Gift Cards
Gift Cards, Gift Certificates and Store Credit cannot be exchanged or returned
for cash, credit or check.
Note: GardenMax reserves the right to request valid identification prior to
accepting merchandise for a return. GardenMax reserves the right to limit
or refuse to accept the return of certain merchandise at any time and for any
reason. GardenMax will only accept the return of merchandise purchased from
a "GardenMax" store. Items purchased at a Canadian GardenMax may not be returned in the U.S. Purchases made with a Customer Agreement must be
returned to the same location in which it was purchased. See Special Services
Desk for details.
*GardenMax may issue a check for refunds over $500 (checks are mailed
from Support Center in Raleigh, NC).
**Sales tax will not be refunded on purchases over 90 days in Massachusetts or
Connecticut; or without a receipt in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode
Island.
